So it’s three days later. Man have I been busy. The biggest thing I am realizing right now is that I do not have enough time at all to say goodbye to everyone. Last night I went to Boston and got Lahnna’s bed from her apartment with Ian’s help. I hadn’t realized how hard Ian was going to take all of this, the moving farther away and it happening so quickly. We have been at least an hour or so away from each other our entire lives and this change is going to mean a big change in how we operate as friends. Change and evolution is what life is about. There is no death (aka the great end) there is only transmogrification into the next phase, the evolution of what is into what it has the potential to be. It is coming for me. Really it has been happening to me all along, I am just now learning how to accept it for what it is.

Today and tomorrow are packing days. The plan is that Lahnna and I will be driving out really early Tuesday morning. I wanted to leave on Monday, but Lahnna’s car couldn’t get serviced until the afternoon and I wanted to have that done before we left on the 3000-mile drive.

As soon as I can figure it out I will be posting images from the whole venture from the iphone. It has a Wordpress application that will allow me to do that.

Lahnna and I currently do not have a destination. We had decided that trying to get an apartment from out here was not a good idea. I mean what if it is sketchy or a bad deal and we are locked in for 6 – 12 months? So we are just going to drive out and hope we can find some couches or whatever to sleep on until we find a place. So if anyone knows anybody that can help us we would appreciate it.

The cool part, well kind of cool part, is that to save on money we are going to camp out during the drive, theoretically anyway. So today I have to go to triple-A and get the camping grounds listings and the routing plan.

It is good to be young and going through this. I am excited. Sometimes melancholy, but mostly, like 96%, excited.

I am moving to San Diego! I know it is crazy and I have been in talks for about a month now, but it wasn’t definite until this trip. In the next week and a half I will be packing my things and driving to SD from NH to start my new job as a Media Arts Teacher at High Tech High in Chula Vista (South of SD).

This is all very surreal and for a time I wasn’t even sure I was going to get the position due to a bunch of certification red tape. But last week I was told that thye wanted me to fly out to meet with the official representatives so that I could get a straight answer about when I would be able to start. So I flew to SD yesterday and found out that I would in fact be getting the position.

Lahnna, my girlfriend, will be moving out a week with me and we are both very excited to make this giant step in both of our lives.

I start teaching on the 25th. I am on the plane right now flying home to NH only to pack up and leave again ASAP. I feel as if I have been given a giant piece of luck and I am hoping I have the strength not to take it for granted.
